John Komrada Bio

John Komrada is a graduate of the Duquesne University School of Music in Pittsburgh, PA. After graduation, he was the lead trumpet player and Assistant Musical Director for the New York rock opera, “Jesus Christ Superstar.”

komrada on horseJohn has performed and/or recorded with artists Tom Jones, Wayne Newton, Glen Campbell, Gladys Knight, B.J Thomas, Reba McEntire, Charlie Daniels, Mel Tillis, Lou Rawls, The Temptations, Four Tops, and The Lettermen. John also served as musical director for Rosemary Clooney.

John spent twenty years as a studio musician, music arranger and contractor for recording sessions and television. He also facilitated many special events for clients includinq the Nashville Convention Center, Opryland Hotel, Maxwell House Hotel, Loew’s Vanderbilt Hotel, Gatlinburg Convention Center, and the NASCAR Motor Sports TV Awards show in Birmingham, Alabama. John served as an Executive Board Member for the Nashville Associaiion of Musicians chapter of the American Federation of Musicians.

In 1995. John moved his family to Tucson, Arizona, where he has been active in organizations dedicated to the preservation of Westem Heritage. He has served as Vice President of the Empire Ranch Foundation and is currently a member of the Empire Ranch Foundation Advisory Committee.

John is also an avid collector of Westem film music and memorabilia. He is also a regular contributor to the Voices of the West radio program.
